“An Investigation into Fragrant Fashion”, BSc Fashion Technology Graduation Project, School of Textiles and Design, Heriot Watt University, Stephanie Dunkel

For her graduation project, Stephanie, had a very interesting mix between a designer collection, a market study and technology.  After investigating the scented fabric and their use in the fragrant garment she designed five high standard dresses with specific smart functionality. The market and opportunities for fragrant fashion were studied, moreover; the technology of applying the microcapsules was also investigated to deter main the best method for applying them in the lab.

As all final treatments change the physical properties of the fabric, the effect of the micro-encapsulation of the fabric was studied by means of FAST system to predict any potential problems in the manufacturing process.

The designer collection consist of five scented high standard dresses below:

Ball Gown

Backless

Slit Dress

One Shouldered Dress

Waterfall Dress
